Overview

An engineer, a regulatory-affairs specialist or a quality professional in medical technology needs to speak the clinician’s language. Without fluency in the anatomy and physiology of the major organ systems, FDA classification decisions and intended-use statements stay superficial, and conversations with clinicians and clinical researchers lose credibility.

This 16-hour Professional Certificate Course introduces the anatomy and physiology of the major systems, cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous and renal, with explicit attention to the structure–function relationships that drive device design, product classification and the clinical evidence a submission requires. It builds the medical vocabulary needed to read clinical documentation with fluency.

The Introductory course prepares participants for the Advanced level (BME-601-A), where the pathophysiology of common conditions, the associated device categories and the clinical-rationale reasoning behind a regulatory submission are developed in depth.

Certificate of Completion

Participants who meet the course completion requirements receive a Certificate of Completion issued by Aleph University.

Completion of both the Introductory and Advanced levels may be reviewed by Aleph University for potential recognition within an applicable graduate pathway, subject to institutional review and applicable academic policies. Recognition is not automatic and is not guaranteed.
