Diagnostic ultrasound is one of the fastest-growing medical-imaging modalities, from cart-based systems to miniaturized point-of-care platforms, elastography and AI-assisted ultrasound. Behind every platform is a well-defined technical chain: acoustic physics, transducer design, beamforming and image formation.
This 16-hour Professional Certificate Course introduces the acoustic physics of generation and propagation in tissue, transducer and array design (phased-array, linear, curvilinear), the imaging modes (B-mode, M-mode and Doppler) and image-quality evaluation with phantoms.
The Introductory course prepares participants for the Advanced level (BME-625-A), where ultrasound safety (mechanical and thermal indices), contrast and elastography, and the regulatory expectations of IEC 60601-2-37 and the FDA 510(k) pathway are developed in depth.
The Introductory course gives engineers and medical-imaging professionals the physics-and-instrumentation foundation that every ultrasound system depends on, from transducer design to image-quality assessment.
Participants who meet the course completion requirements receive a Certificate of Completion issued by Aleph University.
